1、 The best location for extinguishing a fire with a fire extinguisher is:
1. When used in upwind position: The position where the wind passes first is called upwind position.
2. Distance from the fire source: approximately 1.5-3 meters, ensuring that the fire extinguishing agent is sprayed onto the ignition material and can effectively extinguish the fire.
3. There are no flammable or explosive materials, dangerous goods, or power sources around the fire extinguishing location.
2、 When using a fire extinguisher to extinguish a fire, should the nozzle of the fire extinguisher be aligned?
Aim at the root of the flame
Usage: When extinguishing a fire, you can quickly rush to the scene with a handheld or shoulder mounted fire extinguisher. Place the extinguisher about 5 meters away from the burning area. If outdoors, choose to spray in the upwind direction. If the dry powder fire extinguisher used is an external pressure storage type, the operator should hold the spray gun tightly with one hand and lift the opening handle on the gas storage cylinder with the other hand. If the opening of the gas cylinder is a handwheel type, turn it counterclockwise and reach a higher position, then lift the fire extinguisher. After the dry powder is sprayed out, quickly aim at the root of the flame and spray. If the dry powder fire extinguisher used is a built-in gas cylinder or pressure storage type, the operator should first remove the safety pin on the opening handle, then hold the nozzle at the front end of the spray hose, and press down the opening handle with the other hand to open the fire extinguisher for extinguishing the fire. When using a fire extinguisher or pressure storage fire extinguisher with a spray hose, one hand should always press down on the handle and not release it, otherwise the spraying will be interrupted.
Attention to use: When using ammonium phosphate dry powder fire extinguishers to extinguish solid combustible fires, spray towards areas with intense combustion and sweep up, down, left, and right. If conditions permit, the user can carry the fire extinguisher and spray it along the four sides of the burning material, so that the dry powder fire extinguishing agent is evenly sprayed on the surface of the burning material until the flame is completely extinguished.
